Makendi Henry Alcé 

Director of Workforce Development

Makendi Henry Alcé, who goes by Alcé, is the Director of Workforce Development at the Immigrant Family Services Institute (IFSI), where he oversees one of the largest adult education programs in the region, serving over 2,000 immigrant learners each year. Born in Haiti and having moved to the United States just a few years ago, Alcé brings both lived experience and professional expertise to his work, ensuring that the programs he leads are culturally responsive, inclusive, and impactful.

Under Alcé’s leadership, the workforce development program has expanded its reach across Massachusetts, offering English language classes, career readiness training, and strong partnerships with colleges and local employers. His vision is rooted in equity and empowerment, helping immigrant families navigate complex systems and build brighter futures.

Alcé is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. His academic focus complements his advocacy work, centering on education equity, economic mobility, and immigrant integration.
