Immigrant Day of Service in Taunton

For immigrants, mostly of Haitian origin, temporarily staying at the Clarion Hotel, Friday, June 15, 2023, in Taunton, was not a day like any other. Visibly enthusiastic, there were dozens of them to benefit from the attentions and services of a specialized work team from the IFSI, installed in the great hall of the Reverend James Destinée's House of Bread church, and determined as always, to work in to facilitate their integration into American society.

It was a day of togetherness and of sharing among Haitians dreaming of a better future and new beginnings in this country, and IFSI, working devoutly to remain true to its promise of bringing hope to immigrants.

Immigrants flocked by the dozens to register in our database, apply for a work permit, change of address, change of venue, DTA assistance and make an appointment at IFSI to receive other integration services provided by the organization.

Among the IFSI specialists present at the event were the organization's assistant director, Mr. Franklin Dalembert; Ms. Nunotte Zama, an immigration lawyer working with IFSI; and Ms. Barbara Antoine, head of operations in IFSI's Immigration department, who spoke to the immigrants, offering them advice on how to build successful lives for themselves in the United States.

It should be noted that other organizations were also invited to attend this “immigrants day” event. Participants shared Haitian food graciously offered by Reverend Destinée, after which IFSI distributed sanitary kits, toiletries, and clothing to immigrant families.

Among the organizations present was American Service, whose representatives explained the Minnesota program to the immigrants in attendance. After this  presentation, several attendees decided to enroll in this program.

Starting early in the morning, the IFSI Logistics department under the leadership of Mr. Jean Fritzner Vital worked hard to ensure that resources were available on-site to distribute to the immigrants. Their concerted effort aligns with the IFSI mission to assist as many immigrants as possible in solving the problems they face and improving their situation. Jerry also provided essential transportation services throughout the duration of the event, transporting immigrants between the hotel and the church.

By the end of the day, it was abundantly clear that the immigrants were satisfied and grateful for the information and services that they had received during the event.

This event was a big success! The event was made possible through a partnership model that will remain vital to the success of our efforts during these times of crisis when immigrants everywhere are in need of a helping hand.

IFSI reiterates its will to provide essential services and information wherever immigrants are in need of such services to facilitate their successful integration into their new communities.
